Polybutene

Polybutenes are a group of synthetic clear liquid polymers of butenes, obtained by selective polymerisation of the isobutylene contained in the butene-butane stream.

The main characcteristics are the broad range of viscosities (from 5 Cst @ 37.8C to 14,000 Cst @ 100C). This reflects the variation on molecular weights which range from 250 to around 4500.
