Product Description and Typical Applications

Sisalation® Facing Foil Light Duty (436) is a double sided reflective foil laminate recommended for use as a vapour barrier for building blanket which is commonly used under metal deck roofing. When used in conjunction with an airspace, it is an effective thermal insulation material because of the high reflectivity and low emissivity of its aluminium foil surfaces. It provides an effective barrier against moisture, vapours, wind, heat and dust penetration when overlapped. Particularly when sealed with Sisalation® Vapastop® 883 self adhesive aluminium tape.

Sisalation Facing Foil Light Duty (436) has an outer layer of aluminium foil bonded to high density kraft paper with a unique extrusion polyethylene which provides a superior bond. The kraft paper is bonded to a second foil with a heavy coating of flame retardant adhesive and reinforced with continuous strands of fiberglass arranged in a grid. The kraft paper is made with high recycled content paper.

Specification Notes

Sisalation Facing Foil Light Duty (436) satisfies the BCA requirements for sarking type materials. It complies with the requirements of AS/NZS4200.1: 1994 for “Pliable Building Membranes” which is the deemed to satisfy standard recognised by the BCA Part 3.5 Roof and Wall Cladding. It has a low flammability index (not greater than 5) in accordance with AS1530.2: 1993 which satisfies the BCA Part 3.7.1.9(a) Fire Hazard Properties (Class 1 & 10 Buildings). It also satisfies BCA Specification C1.10 2(a) Fire Hazard Properties (Class 2 to 9 Buildings), as a sarking type material.
